Now, a Diploma in sting Operation
While it is in practice across the globe, sting operation has yet to gain acceptance by mainstream journalism. Now, in a move that could give recognition to this form of investigative journalism, NRAI School of Mass Communication is all set to launch a diploma course in sting operations.
The school has invited students to do enroll for this diploma course in addition to their bachelors and masters degree programme, offered by the institute.
“We have seen governments being toppled by some of the sting stories shown on our news channels, there has always been a huge demand of “sting operation stories” by the TV channels, and hence it may not be a part of the official syllabus,” said Mr. Nalin Singh, Film Maker and Director of NRAI School of Mass Com.
He further said, “We have designed a special module, to train the young turks and lined up some very good faculties, who have done sting operation for their TV channels, they will share their experience, as well as train the students also. There are very small spy cameras that can be fitted inside your shirt, bag, and pen. It is attached with a battery and a small recorder. There are wireless cameras also, in which a team standing away from the location records the audio and the video signals, broadcast quality footage can be obtained by editing it further.”
